This tour has a specialized itinerary that will allow for a flexible day in case of any sudden Icelandic weather changes with an expert guide along for the ride. We have rented out our own horse farm with a home cooked meal included that will offer a more private viewing experience, so you could not be in a better hands for this major event!

  • What is the weather going to be like?
    In Iceland, there is no guarantee of the same kind of weather will be the whole day, even though there is beautiful morning during the pick-up in Reykjavík. Keep in mind that the weather can change very suddenly and you might just experience all four seasons in one day. So be well-prepared and bring plenty of layers.
  • What should I wear and take with me?
    Please have on Warm layers for outdoor conditions, Camera or other photography gear, Waterproof outer jacket, Comfortable, sturdy footwear, Hat and Gloves and Snacks!
  • What's the cancelaltion policy?
    Free cancellation up to 7 days before departure. Due to the unique nature of the event, cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable. If extreme weather conditions prevent safe travel and the tour is cancelled, a full refund will be issued.
  • What is the Ecplise time?
    Eclipse timeline: Partial eclipse begins: 16:44 Total eclipse: 17:45-17:47 Daylight returns: 18:46
  • What sights will we see?
    The itinerary is dependent on traffic and weather that day, we will try to see Kirkjufell, Ingjaldshólskirkja, Arnarstapi and Búðarkirkja.
  • Do I need some insurance before going on this trip?
    Travel insurance is always a good idea. We recommend that you have personal health insurance coverage when participating in any adventure activities in Iceland, as you would when travelling anywhere in the world. Also if your flights get cancelled, you can claim a refund through them!
  • I want to take photos, wilI get help?
    Please note that photography equipment is not provided on this tour. Guests are welcome to bring their own cameras and binoculars. The guide will try and assist but please do your research beforehand! Proper solar filters are essential for all optical devices to ensure safe viewing and eye protection.
  • What is the age limit?
    Minimum age for this experience is 5 years old.
  • Will we stop for lunch?
    No, to save time and maximize our chases of sightseeing - we will not stop for lunch so please bring snacks with you! For the 10:00 am departures we will arrive at the horse farm at around 15:30 am and have a late lunch. For guests joining the 11:00 am tour, we will arrive at the horse farm at around 16:30 am watch the eclipse and then have have early dinner after that!
