We’ve got you covered if your travel plans to Iceland change 🥳 If you let us know more than 24 hours before your tour, you can either reschedule to a new date or put your booking on hold to use later (our bookings never expire!). We’re also happy to provide a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before your tour. - What type of weather can I expect on the South Coast Ice Cave tour?Iceland’s weather is famously unpredictable, and you can experience all four seasons in a single day. Be prepared for sudden changes, dress in layers, and carry waterproof gear as rain and wind are common. Check regional forecasts and make sure you bring the right clothes for an enjoyable visit!
- Does this tour work in the winter in limited daylight?During the winter months in Iceland, we experience shorter daylight hours. However, this tour is remarkably well-timed. You'll depart from the city in the dark, reach the attractions just as daylight begins, and start your journey back to Reykjavik as dusk approaches.
- What should I wear?To dress up for the Icelandic glaciers we recommend, light base layers, insulating mid layers and waterproof outer layers. Have sturdy hiking shoes on! Gloves, hat and a backpack is also smart!
- Will we stop for food? There is plenty of food stops on this trip. About 1.5 hour from Reykjavík, we’ll make a quick pit stop at Hvolsvöllur. It’s a chance to grab some on-the-go food. At the mesmerizing Skógarfoss, we make a linger stop where you can enjoy your lunch or purchase it!
- Can the itinerary for the tour change?Safety is our top priority. With this in mind, we reserve the right to adapt the itinerary and explore alternative routes as needed based on prevailing conditions.
- How many people are on the tour?To ensure a fun and personal experience, the group size on our tours never exceeds 15 people and is often quite less to ensure a fun and personal experience!
- Is this tour physically hard? The hike with the Ice Cave stop is 3,5 - 4 hours in total, so we would classify the tour as moderate. However, The glacier is constantly changing, which means the hiking route also changes throughout the year, so for some it could be considered hard. That includes getting geared up, walking to the glacier, hiking on the glacier itself, and walking back.
