If you don’t love ice, you WILL after this trip!

Thomas made the travel time fun with great information and trivia questions! They give phenomenal clothing and gear to make sure you are warm and safe! Easy to ride snowmobiles, so fear NOT, if you have never rode one. My 16 year old son did a phenomenal job and had a blast. The ice cave was amazing. Seeing the colors from different angles and being able to take beautiful pictures of Mother Nature is perfect. The whole team is polite, kind and helpful! I would book with them and we will if we come back to Iceland! Loved the whole adventure!!

Valentines Day Glacier Snowmobiling and Ice Cave

We had an amazing time on the snowmobiling and ice cave tour. All of the equipment was high quality, warm, and clearly well maintained - it handled the glacier conditions perfectly and kept us comfortable the entire time. The ice cave itself was incredible and truly something special to see in person. Our guide, Thomas, was friendly, professional, and helpful from the moment he picked us up to the time he dropped us off right in front of our hotel. He made the whole experience feel smooth, safe, and fun. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience we won’t forget—especially getting to do it on Valentine’s Day!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Full Refund / Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour start time and receive a full refund. Cancellation requests must be made via email or phone. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are non-refundable. If you need to make changes to your booking, we recommend contacting us as early as possible so we can assist you.
  • Do I need experience to drive a snowmobile in Iceland?
No previous snowmobile experience is required. Before heading out onto Langjökull Glacier, your guide will provide clear safety instructions and a full briefing. Most first-time riders find it easier than expected. To operate a snowmobile, you must hold a valid driver’s license. If you are sharing a snowmobile, only one person needs a license, and you can switch drivers during the ride.
  • Is a driver’s license required?
Yes. A valid driver’s license is required if you plan to drive the snowmobile. If you prefer to ride as a passenger, no license is needed.
  • What gear is included for the glacier snowmobile ride?
All essential snowmobiling equipment is included. You’ll receive a protective overall, helmet, gloves, balaclava, and goggles. This gear is designed to keep you warm and safe while riding on Langjökull Glacier.
  • What should I wear for this winter tour?
Icelandic winter conditions can be cold and windy, especially on the glacier and during the Northern Lights portion of the tour. We recommend: Thermal base layers Warm sweater or fleece Waterproof jacket and pants Insulated gloves Hat and scarf Thick wool socks Sturdy waterproof boots Layering is key. Even if it doesn’t feel extremely cold in Reykjavik, the glacier will be significantly colder.
  • Is lunch included?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. We recommend bringing snacks or a packed lunch. There will also be a stop where you can purchase food before returning to Reykjavik.
  • Can children join this tour?
Yes. The minimum age is 8 years old. Please note that children must ride as passengers on the snowmobile.
  • Is this tour suitable during pregnancy?
Snowmobiling on a glacier can be physically demanding and involves bumpy terrain. For safety reasons, this tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers. If you are traveling with a group, it may be possible to wait at the glacier base camp while others participate in the snowmobile portion.
  • Will we definitely see the Northern Lights?
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. Visibility depends entirely on weather conditions and solar activity. If the lights do not appear during your tour, you are eligible to rejoin a Northern Lights minibus tour free of charge (subject to availability). The re-try is valid for up to three years. Please note that refunds are not issued if the tour operates but the aurora is not visible.
  • How do you decide if the Northern Lights tour runs?
Our team closely monitors aurora forecasts and weather conditions throughout the day. If conditions are unfavorable and there is no realistic chance of seeing the lights, the Northern Lights portion may be canceled. If canceled, you will be notified directly.
  • Will the guide take photos of us under the Northern Lights?
This experience consists of two separate parts: the glacier adventure and the Northern Lights tour. If one portion is canceled due to weather or safety conditions, the other will still operate as scheduled whenever possible. Your safety always comes first, and glacier conditions may require adjustments to the itinerary.
