WHY I THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS TOUR! 🧡

I have lived in Iceland my whole life, and if I can, I try to do the Ring Road almost every summer. It is genuinely the single best way to explore the country, and the fun part is that it is never the same twice. It also has a reputation for a reason. The Iceland Ring Road is often described as one of the world’s great road trips, because in seven days you get the kind of variety most countries cannot offer in a month.

For travelers who value comfort, smart planning, and a week that runs smoothly, this tour delivers incredible value. You get a complete Iceland experience, with an excellent guide, a small group, and all the important details handled so you can simply show up and enjoy Iceland like the locals do.

Wake Up Reykjavik Tour Review by Michael M

Incredible Time In Iceland

Wow, what a wonderful trip. Davið was one of the best guides we have ever experienced. We were originally apprehensive about booking this type of trip because we typically just do these trips on our own and figure it out. All I can say is that this far exceeded expectations and made our time here in Iceland wonderful. We can’t thank David and the team enough for their hospitality, knowledge and help throughout the trip. It was extremely enjoyable. From the original booking to the actual trip, everything went extremely well. It was so much fun. If you are considering doing this and feel apprehensive, don’t worry - just do it, I promise you will be glad you did.

A Unique and Unforgettable Experience in Every Way

My wife and I just returned from Iceland and this incredible 7 Day Ring Road Tour. Iceland is one of those places people often visit as a layover or for a couple days. There are plenty of quick tours out of Reykjavik that take you on the Golden Circle Tour or other 1-3 day tours. The 7 Day Ring Road Tour is a whole different experience and adventure. If you've seen the posts on social media like "15 Best Places to See in Iceland" or other top 10 lists out there, be assured this tour hit them all for all the lists we saw beforehand. Plenty of time was allowed as well at each attraction. Just know that that overview/itinerary provides just a sample of the highlights and stops you will make each day. There are so many other attractions and stops too numerous to list. If you are visiting Iceland, I cant recommend enough that you choose this tour. And a special thanks to Valli for all his hard work and hours he put in with us, giving us all one of the most incredible and memorable experiences in our lifetimes - ages 13-85. Thank you!

Magical and unforgettable!

I cannot recommend this tour and our tour guide, David, highly enough! I went with a group of five other friends, and we had an unreal 7 days driving around wild Iceland. Two of us were celebrating birthdays and I don't know how we'll ever top this. We saw so much more than if we'd done this on our own, and everything (whale watching, museum tickets, lunch reservations etc) was arranged for us in advance - all we had to do was show up. David went out of his way to show us extra things he loves that were not on the tour itinerary, and I feel so lucky to have had this experience. Almost all of our days ended in a hot tub or geothermal spa, so pack a bathing suit (if you're going in summer.) The sun never set, which was surreal. Somehow, the waterfalls just kept getting more stunning. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why book a fully planned small-group tour instead of self-driving?
Because the quality of a Ring Road trip comes down to the details: the pacing, hotel locations, and having the right stops in the right order. On this tour, everything is already planned and handled from start to finish, with a professional driver-guide and a comfortable small-group setting, so you can enjoy Iceland without worrying about routes, timing, or logistics.
  • Is this Ring Road tour rushed?
This 7-day Complete Ring Road tour is designed to feel smooth and enjoyable, not like a race. You see Iceland’s biggest highlights in the right order, with regular breaks, short walks, and enough breathing room to explore, take photos, and relax.
  • How long are the driving days?
This is a full loop of Iceland, so there is driving every day, but it is broken up by frequent stops and experiences. Most guests are surprised by how quickly the days pass because you are constantly stepping out into waterfalls, viewpoints, villages, and geothermal areas.
  • What is the group size, and what is the vibe like?
The maximum group size is 19 guests, which keeps the experience personal and easy. It is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where you get great guidance, but still plenty of space to enjoy Iceland at your own pace.
  • Is this tour good for solo travelers?
Yes. Many guests travel solo on this tour. It is a great way to meet fun fellow travelers. You get the ease and safety of a small group, plus your own private room. A single room supplement is required, and you will not be paired with a stranger.
  • What is included, and what will I pay extra for?
This tour is an all-inclusive experience. Your guide, transport, 6 nights of accommodation in private en-suite rooms, breakfast each morning, and all site and parking fees at the attractions on the itinerary are included. Lunch and dinner are not included. Optional add-on tours and experiences (such as lagoon spas or whale watching) are not included.
  • Can I join if I am not very fit?
Yes. The tour is designed to fit all levels. This is a relaxed to moderate tour with short walks and sightseeing stops, not long hikes. You should be comfortable walking on uneven ground, stairs, and sometimes windy or wet conditions. If you can handle normal travel days, you can handle this tour.
  • What should I pack for a 7-day summer tour in Iceland?
Think layers. Bring warm mid layers, a windproof and waterproof jacket, and sturdy footwear. Even in summer, Iceland can shift quickly between sun, wind, rain, and cool temperatures in the same day.
  • Will we have time to explore on our own, or is it constant guided time?
You get the best of both. Your guide keeps the week flowing smoothly and shares local insight, but the stops are not rushed, and you will have time for your own photos, short walks, coffee breaks, and moments to simply enjoy the scenery.
  • Will I see the Northern Lights on this tour?
This tour runs June to October. The Northern Lights are typically best seen during the darker months, so they are not something we plan for on this itinerary. However, for visitors doing this tour from Late August-October definitely have a good chance of seeing some Northern Lights.
  • What happens if an optional add-on is cancelled, or I change my mind?
Optional activities are always weather and availability dependent. Your guide will help you make the best plan for the day, and if an optional activity cannot run, you can simply enjoy more time at the included sights and stops.
